Tableless web design is a method of coding where the control of the page layout of a website is achieved without resorting to the use of HTML tables. Instead of tables, text and other elements on a page are positioned or arranged using CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). This language of CSS based tableless design was introduced by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
